Delay of Game

The quarterback is struggling. Nobody can explain it. Dom has to.

Book cover with the author's name (Lisa L Hilton) at the top and the title "Delay of Game" at the bottom. It's in a serifed font that looks a little magical, and it slants slightly to the right. There's an American football player in a tunnel with a light at the end of it. On the wall are some runes, a caduceus with runes around it, and a football play diagram, all glowing with blue magic.

Half-elf Dominic Greyson doesn’t hesitate when his sister asks for help. Her husband—the team’s starting quarterback—is falling apart on game day, and no one knows why.

Before Dom can start digging, a hit-and-run leaves him with a concussion.

Even with the lights too bright and his thinking slow, Dom does what he’s always done: take the hit and keep going. What he finds isn’t a slump. It’s sabotage.

Someone is deliberately hobbling the quarterback, slowly and patiently. When they strike the wrong person, Dom has to decide what he’s still fighting for… and whether there’s enough of him left to do it.
